As a result of recent health and safety precautions prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, 嫩草影院's 2020 Commencement Ceremony, originally set for May 16, has been rescheduled for Sunday, December 6, at 11 a.m. The University will gather in the Jane P. Batten Student Center to mark the achievement of degrees and celebrate all 2020 graduates.

William C. Baker, President of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, will serve as the ceremony's keynote speaker. An avid writer and advocate for the environment, his opinion pieces have been published in all major regional newspapers, including the New York Times, and he has been repeatedly interviewed on major television and radio networks.

Commencement will be preceded by a Baccalaureate Service on Saturday, December 5, at 6 p.m. in the Brock Theatre of the Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center on campus. A pre-service concert by the Virginia Wesleyan Choirs will begin at 5:30 p.m.
